Thursday 6th July - RAIN

I awoke to dark skies and persistent rain which is fantastic because tonight is my turn to do the watering!

Spouse has been darkly muttering for some weeks about the lack of carrots, beans etc although he did compliment me on my, "lovely big cucumbers." We have 3 cucumber plants in a growbag which seem to be thriving despite all our efforts.

I think cucumbers will be our signature crop.

We are fairly new to allotmenteering also. We took on our plot in May so a little late, but already had spectacular cucumbers, green tomatoes (still waiting on one going red or yellow), my better half is in charge of all things greenhouse, while I seem to be outside. Still have our fingers crossed for the courgettes who didn't take to well to being taken from the greenhouse and planted out!

Hi Belly, same here with the tomatoes and our runner beans are a bit stringy. Cucumbers and potatoes are the big hit so far. Are you going to post more on your blog?
