Curiosity Killed the Cat were an 1980's band that had me wearing a silly beret for about a week. Last night it was Tiggy the cat who was determined to muck up my seed planning for next year. I'm going to grow all the veg that survived in 2006 and will also try some;
Asparagus Pea
Rainbow Chard
Ailsa Craig Tomatoes
Feltham First peas
Autumn King Carrots
Blue Lake Beans
I will also plant a big nepeta bush to keep Tiggy out of the way.

Bet you are a dab hand at walking backwards up escalators then...don't tell me you didn't it.
didn't try it.
I fell of the top of the escalator (true) but was adept at the Human League moody scowl.
I spent a happy hour sitting with my seed collection arranging them according to what month they need to be planted, whether indoors or out, and so on. My kids were playing with their Bratz dolls, wooden trains and Playstation games, and I was playing with my collection of seed packets. My husband pointed out that I have so many I don't need to buy any packets of seeds whatsoever in 2007. But that's men for you. What do they know?
Teehee!! Spouse responded to my list by emailing me a scale plan of the new garden and pointedly asking where all these seeds were supposed to go.
I`ve also some seeds to plant for next spring but haven`t the slightest idea where. Going to make a veggy patch if spring does arrive when it`s supposed to. Never know these days with all the bizzarre weather.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I can`t wait to see where you move to! Lucky you, moving near where Phil Rickman`s books take place, and in an old cottage to boot! I can only dream.........
Have the most fabulous New Year...which it sounds like you will :)

Autumn King is a good carrot, I've grown them for years. I grow them as a late maturing carrot as they seem to stand the winter well, we had some straight from the garden for Christmas dinner and they were fine. Are the hurdles to keep the soil back because I'm not sure if they would be up to that job on their own, I think they would need some kind of support. Bob.
I met Phil Rickman a few times when I was running a bookshop in Hereford. He used to come in and sign his Merrily Watkins books, a really nice chap.
I think I am going to have to re-think the hurdles as the best place for the beds is on a slope and I reckon I will need something a lot more substantial. Sleepers are looking more and more likely.
I have some spare seeds if you are interested!
All the very best for 2007!
How kind, thank you, what seeds have you got?? I love your site and Spouse is looking keenly at the holiday cottage - 'Argument Cottage' sounds ideal for us!
Yes reality goes out of the window when we plan our garden as well.
