Sunday 9th April - Girlification

Steve had collected some hazel sticks during the week which Mel and I used to construct what we hope will be a sweet-pea tunnel through the potato beds this summer. It took under 2 hours, cost nothing but we hope it will look and smell great when the flowers start. Our 'painted lady' sweet peas have germinated well and now we have such a big frame, we will buy some different varieties to climb up it.

Bean poles, ponds and now this - You are my go-to site for garden construction projects! We rototilled some today but not as far as where I hope the bean bed to be. Still hope to get there before planting time (even if I don't have the bean trenches shared on all the blogs). Cannot wait to see the tunnel in the coming months.

Mel likes 'vertical elements' in her gardens. Our neighbouring plot holder has made a few comments about having to be very tall to pick our beans. I suspect we might invest in a stepladder.

Too cool! So now I'll keep an eye out for future photos of sweet peas!
